Female facilities funding to help people get in the game


THE Female Facilities Program is a new addition to the Get in the Game Program.

 

It aims to assist sport and recreation organisations and local governments develop functional and inclusive female change rooms and amenities that meet the current and future needs of sport and recreation participants.

Eligible organisations can apply for up to $500,000 (GST exclusive).

Applications open October 3 and close on December 1.

If your organisation is planning to lodge an application, ensure you have discussed your project with a council Sport and Recreation Officer.

 

Winter Carnival for athletes

IPSWICH and District Athletics Club will host their 36th annual Winter Carnival on Sunday, August 27.

Events include sprints, middle distance, long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put and discus for ages 10 years to masters.

Major races at the carnival will be the Lightning Gift, Ladies Gift, Boys 70m Dash and Girls 70m Dash with prize money up for grabs.

This is an open carnival so you don’t have to be registered with an athletic club to compete in many events.

CENTRALS Districts Cricket Club are hosting a junior sign-on day on Sunday at Limestone Park.

Club officials will be there to answer your questions from 9am until midday.
